The mesh of gravity
The graph paper of this notebook just gained a dimension. Drop masses, launch planets, and touch general relativity with your hands.

What are you looking at?
Mass curves space
The mesh you see is spacetime. Einstein discovered that a mass does not "pull" on things: it deforms the geometry around it. Drag the sun and watch the grid sink beneath it.
Orbits are falls
An orbiting planet is permanently falling toward the sun — but moving sideways so fast it never reaches it. Launch a planet at 100% orbital velocity and you get a perfect circle; lower it and it spirals in.
Escape velocity
Above 141% of orbital velocity (exactly √2), kinetic energy beats gravity and the planet escapes forever. Try it: push v₀ to the maximum and watch it leave the sheet.
